How we handle your information
This Privacy Policy describes how Elias Dermatology, LLC (“Elias Dermatology,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide when you use the skin analysis tool at skin.eliasderm.com (the “Service”). It applies to information collected through the Service only and supplements any privacy notice you receive in connection with care at our clinic.
What we collect
When you use the Service, we collect:
- Identity and contact information you submit at the lead form: first name, last name, email address, optional phone number, preferred clinic location, and your stated skincare concern.
- The photograph you choose to upload or capture for analysis. The photograph is transmitted to our analysis service and processed in-memory only — see “How your photo is handled” below.
- Analysis results generated from the photograph (skin type, undertone, hydration, barrier, concerns, zone observations, recommendations).
- Technical information sent automatically by your browser when you visit the Service: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this for security, rate-limiting, and basic operational metrics.
How your photo is handled
Your photograph is sent over an encrypted connection to our analysis service, which runs on Amazon Web Services using Amazon Bedrock with Anthropic Claude. AWS is a HIPAA-eligible service provider and operates under a Business Associate Agreement with Elias Dermatology, LLC.
The image is processed in-memory for the sole purpose of generating your analysis and is not retained by Elias Dermatology after the analysis is delivered. We do not use your photograph to train artificial intelligence models, sell it, or share it with marketing partners.
How we use your information
- To produce and deliver your skin analysis and personalized recommendations.
- To contact you about your analysis results and related skincare services from Elias Dermatology, including by email and SMS, only if you have consented at the lead form.
- To add the analysis results to your medical record at Elias Dermatology when clinically appropriate. (Your photograph is not stored in our medical record system unless captured during a separate clinical visit under standard medical-record practices.)
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To comply with applicable law.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With service providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, analysis infrastructure, email delivery, CRM, EMR). These providers are bound by contract to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- With your treating Elias Dermatology team for clinical continuity.
- When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
Your choices
- Marketing communications. Opt out anytime by replying STOP to SMS messages or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Access, correction, deletion. Email privacy@eliasderm.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about your use of the Service. We may need to verify your identity. Some information is retained as required by law or for medical-record obligations.
- Cookies. The Service uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for lead-gate state, staff sign-in, and rate-limiting). It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 18 without a parent or legal guardian’s involvement. If you believe a minor has provided information through the Service, contact privacy@eliasderm.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information transmitted to and processed by the Service, including TLS in transit, server-side input validation, IP-based rate limiting, encrypted storage where applicable, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in a reasonable manner before the changes take effect.
